Here are a couple of nice fish I scored the other night (and released) just to keep you jack aficionados keen. Anticipaton was high, water temps were low(18.5deg),jumpers were on and the 20lbs gear was in the boat. Took my old man for a run just to see if we could catch a wintertime jack on lures and came up trumps. The old boy was blown away in 3 seconds on a good one, with the comment of sh$t, i just lost everything. You just got jacked dad! The two i caught were definitely more sluggish than usual. The zereks did the job in the large size which i was surprised at. I think the red colour may be my next go to one aswell. We both went home happy to prove that you can still catch a summer fish in winter.

Nice one. Were those caught around the gladstone area?

Yeh Brock, in the general gladstone area. Like most fish they are there if you put in the effort. I like to chase barra but there is something about chasing jacks that is addictive.
