Mates went out to DT on Tuesday. The trip across the bay was good but the trip out the Bar and back inside Bar was pretty scary. Told him if there is a North Easterly/ Easterly swell on the Bar go around the Cape. Once outside the conditions were good and they bagged out by 10.30 and headed home. Might make a trip tomorrow.

How would the northern channel be on a northerly. I would have thought the channel would still be there? I know it's changed a lot since the big rains.

No good in a northerly. The northern channel is now pretty much silted up so probably usable at high tide and south/ southeasterly swell. Might have to use the trawler channel from now on or go to Scarborough.
