Thread Presever

Fellas quick question?????,what is the best thread presever to use.

Never seize is pretty good stuff. I use it on all my bolts stops stainless binding up on you also.

"Best" is a subjective thing. It depends on a lot of things.
I use mainly chromaseal. Works well for me provided that
A: you shake the shit out of it
B: you're aware of the fact that each coat lightens the colour slightly

I find stainless nuts and bolts a little difficult to wrap around the guides on my rods, so I stick to normal THREAD.

You mean colour preserver, try TM Chromoseal.

My apologies guys. When you said thread preserver, I thought nuts and bolts . I will persevere to be more attentive.

Has anyone tried never seize as a colour preserver?

I don't know a good thread preserver but I could have done with some on my Gee Yamahas are good thread. That didn't last as long as I would have liked.

As Owen pointed out, most, in fact all thread sealers lighten the thread. It's essentially an opaque substance, hence why I hate all of them.

I mix my own special thread sealer soup which doesn't lighten the thread colour at all, in fact it brings out the luster of the colour.

The big problem for many rod builders, if they notice, is a rod built say 4 years ago which had thread sealer applied, wont look the same as a newly built rod using the exact same thread.

Now if the customer is picky, then that can become a major problem. Trust me, I have been there.
