Get the height right and try a four blade prop. It will lift the stern and is worth a try

If you are going to take the time i would recomend you do it correctly the first time and cover all options
    > set a 300m run site from 3500 Rpm record speed trim angle ( optimum in relation to increasing speed /RPM ratio) check position of cav plate and record height above water as postive + heignt below negative - do this for every 500 rpm
    > then lower cav plate 1 whole record as above
    > raise cav plate 1 whole above original and record as above dont worry about changing props or foils and PM me if you would like

    cheers

Is the mounting face of the motor to the pod on the same angle as the original transom ie now vertical was angled ?

I can imagine that the motor may have to go up higher than the two holes left which is why I suggested the possibility of a jacking plate. The motor looks a two stroke so shouldn't be a weight problem. Unless its a full width pod following the hull lines the rule of thumb is to go up 1 inch for every foot of the pod from the transom.

Once the engine is setup right I would recommend tabs after trying them out for the first time on my boat in some rough water. They can totally transform the ride of a deep v boat and have no negative characteristics like a foil.

yeah mate the pod is full width follows the shape of the boat, I will take some pics of the whole boat inside and out and rebuilding process etc for you guys at some stage if anyones interested I built it all myself and just had the alloy welded professionally as I didn't want it breaking. haha.

yeah well I have lots of ideas here to consider and I will hopefully have a crack next weekend at moving the motor up 2 holes and see how it pans out.

cheers for the info muchly appreciated.

yeah mate sure is I worked it all out the boat originally had wedges under it so I worked out the pod angle to be what the motor originally was with the wedges in place so I didn't have to wedge the motor again.
