Mobile figreglass repairs - Gold Coast
I had a mishap at the boat ramp a couple of weeks ago - I over-estimated the depth of the water and launched the boat bum first into the concrete. The affected area is on the underside of the transom - about 3 cm deep and maybe 6 or 7 cm wide It went right through to the timber so obviously gave it a fair whack. The transom was professionally replaced a few years ago so I am keen to have it fixed properly so it doesn't start to rot again.
Because of work commitments its difficult for me to drag the boat around during the week. I was wondering if anybody knew of mobile people who do this sort of work on the coast? I did a search on Ausfish and everybody seemed to rate Grand Marlin's work but unfortunately it seems he isn't doing this type of work at the moment.
Thanks
Mick

Re: Mobile figreglass repairs - Gold Coast
let us know if you find someone local. Ive been trying for over a year to get someone to do various gelcoat repairs and fill in a few old drill holes from brackets etc. The only bloke who turned up, was bare foot and had his mum drive him there cause he lost his licence, and reckoned car bog and a can of spray paint would be fine. (sent him away of course).

bet ya though, if a couple of fibreglass repairers turned up in oz on 457 visas, a lot of people would have a big sook. Just saying!

Try Tweed Fibreglass down the southern end. Don't do mobile but in the game for 30 yrs. 0755244643 Dennis

Thanks Dennis will look into this. Looks like (reputable) mobile operators may be thin on the ground on the GC.
