How to attach leader and lure to braid?

    Hi

Just wondering what everyone is doing for the following:

    1. Connecting a mono leader to braid fishing line

    2. Connecting the lure to the mono.

I mainly fish off the rocks into river mouth's and the ocean and am currently connecting the mono leader with a swivel and then using a swivel clip. I use a combination of plastics hard bodies and slugs. Sometimes I will just connect a swivel clip to the braid.....Tailor dont seem to have an issue with this but most better fish have been caught with a mono leader.

I like the clip so I can change over lures quickly on the rocks without having to climb back to the tackle box.

Would love to know what everyone else is doing and what is the method behind their madness.

    Cheers

I use double uni for leader to braid and then a version of the rapala knot for the lure to leader.

I use the double uni too and then a loop knot to attach jighead/lure. No swivel at all. Never had a problem. I always do the uni on the mono/flouro first and do seven twists. I do eleven twists on the braid. I am very careful when cinching up that the knots come together neatly. Cant stress enough that taking time to practice your uni knots at home having abeer watching the footy. Saves racking ya brain in the dark on a cold wet windy night trying to remember how to tie them. (i spent 3 months holed up in a house in Utah in the dead of winter with not much more to do that practice knot tying )

    Good luck with it

Yacutan for braid to leader, just started using it after Daintreeboy recommended it, easy to tie and goes through the guides easily. version of the rapala knot for leader to lure, only clips i recommend are the Hawaiian style as you can,t lose fish with them but no swivels usually unless trolling a lure with plenty of action.

Next knot to try (I'm a knot slut) is the five turn surgeons for braid to leader.

Nah, its pretty liberal these days mate. Was in2008 that theychanged the laws so that you didnt have to join a club "pub" to have a beer or buy something to eat if you wanted a brew (like expo 88 was)

Its pretty much business as normal now. There are no BWS or liquorlands though. All alcohol other than mid strength beer can only be purchased through the state liquor stores. (you can get a 2L bottle of Jack Daniels for $40

Great place to raise a family really, mormons pretty much left us alone after we said we werent in the market for a new religion

Just started using the FG for my braid to leader in light stuff after using it a bit on real heavy stuff. Its a bit of a bitch to learn but once ya master it there is no going back.

Try the Slim beauty for attaching braid to mono - easy to tie, strong and goes through the guides easily. Shown here except I use 5 turns with a double (using a bimini twist) -

Then just a Leftys Loop knot to the lure-

x 2 but braid knot first - remember braid cuts into mono not vice versa.
fishing's as simple as 3 P's - patience, perserverance and PLASTIC!
