By the way, if you do get the ss 264 n pairs we can lend you the special big spanner we had made up that fits the big nut on the back.

Here's an excellent video on how to do the install, some really good little tricks and tips that we used:

with the big spanner you made up did you make that up like an open ender out of plate or something did ya? I'm currently away at work so if you could post a picture and include the jaw size that would be great, I will try and make one up..
Just saves me paying postage to get yours up to me and sending it back thats all.
In saying that if all else failed with making one myself I would definitely take you up on that offer, cheers

Yes, ducers are as per your earlier post. Narrow cone 200 and wide 50. Gil calls this the "SS264n pair".

Weather has been absolute crap since we fitted them to the Striper, so apart from a quick shakedown run to Harries, no other test. We hit 80km/hr on the way to Harries, perfect picture, weather was fine with 5-10 knots.

Big test will be when we go out deep chasing ooglies, that will tell the story. But confident that it will do the job.
Note to self: Don't argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience....

300 Zuke. Gets up and boogies!

Treated sensibly, gets about 1.2 -1.3km to the litre at about 4000rpm, sitting on about 52km/hr. nice!

Fuel tank holds 504 litres, I think. Scary at the bowser! Still, dont have to worry about running out when we zip out to Fitzroy reef from 1770. Could probably do 3 trips out and back and still be safe!

Will post a pic of the spanner when the skipper gets back from holidays next weekend. Pm me with a reminder if I forget!

The position you are going to put yours in looks ok from here, I have them in my boat that is on a skid mackay, do not let them rest on the skid. Blue Herron have a lot of good stuff, including the spanner to put the trannies in with. They also sell their trannies with a generic cable and you simply by the adaptor made for you brand of sounder. You don't need to tighten the tranny all that much btw, after you fill the gaps as per instructions it is dead solid and wont leak . Buy the best hole saw you can and don't forget to tape the cut out area. There is a good tutorial on this stuff on youtube. You will be happy when it's done.
