P.S. tried the calamine lotion yet?
hi all. went to mud last night. seabreeze forecast was 15 knots peaking at 20 at 10.30pm and then dropping again. at 5pm it was under 10 at banana banks, airport and Redcliffe. the whirlybird on the shed roof was motionless. went for a drive down the point and there was nothing. being cautious I hung at home checking seabreeze and the whirlybird regularly. when there was still bugger all at 10.30 I decided to go. nothing at the ramp but by the time I got to mud there was a good 15 knots behind me. anchored in spot x and pulled in a shovel and 2 rays before the swell sent me round the northern side. it was bloody cold. forgot the sleeping bag and even with thermals, ski pants and freezer jacket it was still bloody cold. managed some fitful sleep until 7 and then went drifting plastics - 2 deadsticks and 1 casting rod. drifted till 1.30pm for zip, not even a decent bump. decided to check out the crowd on the eastern side and when I got there not one boat around. the metre swell that faced me explained why... fished for 10 minutes there before I figured I best get the hell out of there so slowly motored behind st Helena and back home via a short stop at green and huybers where I managed my only legal for the outing - a grinner (no photo sorry). home at 4pm. may be my longest trip yet for a donut. i'm over it and not going again... until tomorrow
