    Southern Gold Coast Options

    Hi all

Well this Friday the wife and myself are getting the ar$e from the Qld Public Service after 33+ years each, we are taking the money and running.

Anyhow, next week we are going to stay down at Rainbow Bay way on the Southern coast for a week to chill, of course taking a couple of fishing rods with me. Now I know nothing about being land based down there, any hints on where to go and what to fish for, bream and tailor come to mind.

Not going to knock myself out but a quiet fish 1 or 2 afternoons or mornings will help ease the pain.

    Any suggestions? beach/rock?

Maybe Garry (Spaniard King) will lend me his boat for a couple of days

    Cheers

    Bill

Snapper rocks is good for Tailor or the rock walls in the mouth of the Tweed. The wharf to the left of Boyds bay bridge is good also for Bream and the like.If you want to go out in a boat,I am off work from Tuesday to Friday next week, hope the weather is good.

Congratulations, 33 yrs is long enough.

Now you will find there are not sufficient hours in the day for all the things you both need to do.

    Enjoy!

Been a while since I fished there (I grew up fishing from Currumbin to the Tweed). As Giffo65 says - Snapper Rocks can hold tailor, bream in close on unweighted baits. The rock wall to the river holds some big bream, tailor and trevally. Behind the old hospital/Tweed Mall along the northern rock wall where the cotton trees are is proven for Jew and bream (& big sharks!). Like I said it was a while ago but I still visit there now and again.
