    Jewie Sandgate

Fished the new moon along Sandgate to see if they were still around. Got one about 80cm. Plenty of flattie/bream fillets in freezer still, so let her go to grow much bigger. No other action. Was surprised by lack of vermin.

Interesting, I caught one tonight in the river, would have only been 60cm if that.
Tide half way out on a live prawn.
Was a lot of prawns about but most were small.

Usually I find if there is a lot of prawns and bait fish in the shallows at high then when the tide starts going out you get Jewies, Threadies, flathead and what not showing up on the outgoing, picking the bait off as it is forced back into the channels, the bigger the prawns and herring the bigger the size of the fish that show up.
