quick question-does no water come out of the engine till the thermastat kicks in.
as i went to look at a boat today and he had mufs on it to show me how it ran and i noticed no water comeing out of the little hole and the dude reckons it dont come out till the thermo kicks in just seemed suss to me or is he correct
Should come out reasonably quick. Mine(Yamaha) comes out within a few to maybe 10 seconds. Don't know about Hondas but would assume the same. Gary (Spaniard King) should be able to give you a definitive answer.
The Water should come out within a very short period... 10 secs max
Don't be fooled by the sticker on the cowling saying 2006 EPA this is a regulation that the engine complies to not the age of the engine.
PM me the engine serial # and I will tell you the age.. serial # is on the transom mounting clamp starts with BZBE1??????

Mate he's full of crap. Like the others said, water should come out max 10 seconds but more likely 5 seconds.
I would stay away from it after hearing that bullsh#@t from the owner.

The hole usually gets clogged with grit and sand etc. This happens when the boat is driven onto the trailer and stirs up all the gunk on the boat ramp.
There is a little T piece under the cowling right near the tell tail and this is where you'll find it's clogged up.
Number of ways to sort it, but a 100mm piece of wire ( copper ) shoved up there a few times will loosen up the crap and free the hole to allow water to come out. If that does not work, removing the cowl and disconnecting the T piece and then cleaning it is the only way.
That is of course, if this is the reason water is not coming out. Could be further inside the motor ?????

cheers just seemed funny had coweling off and every thing looked clean and it sounded good .so it would be worth the money to send a mechanic around to have a look,if so any one ya know do cashys its in the redland area ,
