    Boat Trailers

After a bit of a recent assesment on my boat trailer I've found it to be borderline non-repairable and as such looking for a new replacement.
The boat is 4.8m and is just below weight for needing brakes (In NSW).
What brands of trailers are out there that I should avoid?
I'm budgeting around $2000-$2200 at a maximum and it seems to be where the majority sit pricewise but should there be a product that would do the same job for cheaper I'm very open to it (well my wallet is anyway)!
So any tips on looking for a new trailer?
    Cheers blokes

i looked recently for a similar sized trailer for a 4.95m tinny
at 2k you are looking at a Chinese import bolted together piece of crap

aussie made budget models start around 2500 - 2800 and a decent aussie made gal box section is $3800

    Re: Boat Trailers

I am looking at a new trailer as well after looking around and getting prices you don't really get much for $2k , they are thin walled and wouldn't last the distance if you drive on every week . For that price you only seem to get 50 by 50 box section that appears to be only going to last a few years at best unless you barely use your boat . I have settled for a new belco custom for my bluefin and its going to be $3.5 k on the road 50 by 75 box section and and is way better than anything I have seen ,the only problem I see is they only do custom builds now and don't carry stock so it's a six week wait I hope this helps also my last belco lasted 10 yrs of being sunk 2-3 times a week for 7 yrs and 3 years of at least once a week... Matt. Ps . Go down the boat ramp and have a look at a few and talk to some people about age you will soon see what I mean ,also redco are a good option but again expensive and in the 3 k range also I have brakes on my trailer as its just on the limit once you add 3 batteries and 60 lt of fuel and all my other associated fishing crap ...matt
A bad days fishing has got to be better than any day at work......
