    Port Alma Next Sunday.

The weather looks good for this Sunday with >10kts.

So I’m going to give Port Alma one more try, I’m planning this time on trying some of the creeks along the nrth western side of Curtis Island. Taking a bit of everything with me as I’ve never been over there before. Hard Bodies, Soft Plastics, Blades, some bait( Fresh mullet, prawns etc.) A cast net and a few crab pots to.

Any reports or tips for this area at all ?

So here’s hoping (fingers & toes crossed) that I can come home with something other than Sunburn and Mozzie bites.

For all you reports/tips for the CQ region I suggest you join this page. https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/132451282855/ or if this link doesn't work, jump onto face book and search for Fishing Central Queensland. If you still can't catch any type of fish after reading the extremely helpful info there ---->sell your boat, gear and take up skydiving.

I just had a look at that page. Did you see the fish that were being caught in Cooroman ck...... Heaps of salmon. Have to get up there and try it one day.

Fishing can be defined as "A jerk on one end of the rod, waiting for a jerk on the other".
"Fishing was around along time before you darling"

Whats your target aus? Trying to do too many things in one day by the sounds. Stick too 1 thing and a backup and you'll probably improve your strike rate. Ben

I'd love to catch a legal Barra, but realise its a little late for them. So I guess the target would be King and or Blue salmon. I'll be casting to drains and slips over the bottom half of the tide, early run in. Then from there l'll be hunting about looking for any activity with soft plastics etc, if I'm doing no good, then I have my bait as a backup I guess.

Taking 4 pots too, hanging out for a taste of mud crab.

Thanks Spiderpig, I'm following along in my little boat with a mate who fishes that area often with some reasonable success. Despite what you all may think, I do know how to fish ....(I cant wait for the attacks after that comment). I've just struck rotten luck and had more then my fair share of lean trips in this area. I feel this trip is going to be a good one, and the start of many more succsesful trips in the future.

I'm so confident Ive even packed my tag gun, and some new tags for the catch and release fish.

There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot

I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges

Up here we Use Hussar as baits for real RED FISHS (SHSIIFDER)
