    Test run

Having taken Pat Maloney from blue fin sports Allison off his hands, the weather came good for a good test run,so with the whole family involved it was off to the claras in search off some spanos,Ifigured the big fellas should be around,So on arrival we did a dummy troll past the northern end and found the sounder showed they were down deep.Out went the sebile minnow koolie ll190 within minutes all hell broke loose,Spano one way my son trying to reel in line the other way,After a battle of to and fro the spano was beside us,so in went the gaff and into the bin he went,(good fish). We then moved on to try and get some bottom fish, but with undersize grunter everywhere and sharks bottom fishing soon came to a holt.Iforgot to mention that the next spano I hooked took the lot no more minnow so new ones have been ordered.Have to say you cant beat a family day out,got a feed, kids had fun,top stuff.Boat is a cracker so moorsby bank and barcoo here I come.

There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot

I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges

Great to see you finally got her out on the water. That's a sweet looking rig and I bet the family will do a lot of miles in her. By the way its only 4 weeks to the Swains kickoff

You should probably burn those parra shorts and never mention that again...

Nice mate.. Will come round for a look soon. Then test her right out and see if she can keep up on the next trip

That's a nice rig mate! Did you know a new company has the moulds and is producing them again? It was in the latest F&B Boat mag. Good luck with it. Btw, how do you find the Senile lures? IMHO they are overpriced and under performing.

FisHard,Mate I use the minnow koolies ll190,also going to try the ll160 as well,I like the way you can get down deep if you need to.Yes they are a bit pricey but I found the finish and the way they swim is excellent.
I mainly use them when the fish are hanging down deep.Let me know what you pay for them and if you are interested I will see what I can get them for.

    Re: Test run

I tried one of the minnows ( not a real deep diver) for trolling, and it was hopeless. Wouldn't do more than 2 knots, despite my attempts at tuning it. I might stick with the X-raps thanks! Hopefully up in Airlie next weekend to give them a run

Good looking boat mate, at least you know it will be in top shape. Has the Fisher got a new home yet?

+1 on that - I bought a deep diver and could not get it to stay under the water over 2-3 knots despite tuning, re-rigging.

    Re: Test run

Greg P,I run all my lures when trolling at 4/6knts and use rubber bands wrapped around the reel handle, line is sitting at 90 degrees,I find this works well.
