    canopy stitching starting to leak

The canopy is a little bit old but still usable although now leaks a bit through the stitching. I don't want to go down the track just yet for forking out $2,500+ for new canopy, clears and side curtains and possibly more for a storm cover so that my load is legal when trailering so was wondering what products members have used to stop water leaking through the stiching, I thought there was something like a wax stick that could be used but not sure what is readily available these days.

I have used bees wax I am pretty sure a few years ago on a new canopy that had leaking stitching which seemed to fix the problem. I think I just rubbed it into and along the stitching seams. I have also heard of people using an appropriate silicon sealer with success

I have had a look on the net and found a few but seal grip seems to be the one that is consistently coming up as a suitable option - has anyone used this at all, thnks.

We used to use bee's wax on some of our older canvas marquee's, it comes in a tube shape like a candle and just run it over the top of the stitching.

Yeah. I have got a can of waterproofing spray here somewhere which I assume would work. Also used to rub a stick of waterproof wax from camping store...I reckon the one on aerodrome rd Maroochy will carry it.

I was in whitworths today and they no longer sell seam sealers - so i guess i will try the other products mentioned and try the camping stores but then again the rain has stopped, there is no wind and I am finished painting the cupboard - might as well go fishing.
