Question Brisbane River Fishing - 'Poop chute'

Went down last night for a quick go at the poop chute with a mate after reading some good things online (all a couple of years old). We managed a couple of just legal bream and a nice flathead in about an hour of fishing on some prawns. Really nice comfortable spot to do some fishing. We put out some whole pillies out on a baitrunner with no luck but we weren't there too long and the pillies were a bit mushy.

I was just wondering if anyone had some advice they could throw me on this particular spot - baits, sp's, species, rigs, times, tides etc. this would be great because I think we will be back there again.

hey iain, if you have a 4x4 you can drive right down onto the beach before the shute. If not you can park at the end of the gravel road and walk through.
There you can fish off the beach inside the sunken wall. Some big flatties there on sps (plenty of snags) and also some stonker whiting on worms at times
Dad reckons fishing is 10% brains and 95% muscle, the rest is just good luck.
