But I'm I'm unlikely to get a start as my negative comments in the past have isolated me and turned good people against me.

My lack of fishing success has led to frustration, that frustration has turned into despair, that despair has turned into insane jealousy, as everyone is doing things I view as impossible. That makes me angry and want to take people to task to justify my failures and lack of success as being the norm. I hate that I can't do what others are doing. Makes me insane!!!!!!

So here is my apology to you all.

I've done the wrong thing, I've come out all jealous and defensive. Please accept my most humble apology.

I once wrote articles and did plenty of photography for various fishing magazines ( NAFA, QFM, NSW FM, Bush & Beach ), etc, and I loved it.

But after my bitter divorce in 2002, I went to the dark side, so very negative and hostile. Maybe I can turn it around and get back to the good old days of enjoying fishing, catching a few now & then and sharing that joy with others.
as a deckie do you use rusty hooks?
you come on here getting everyone back up and calling the good people (boat hog excluded) on here useless fishermen etc and wed are just meant to accept the apology?... hmm me thinks something is not right...

    Re: The perfect deckie.

i just do my own deckying. if i take someone out, i still do everything myself. i find it easier to just do it than explain it. i do take the time to show them how to put the lecky up and down and that's about it. i don't get help washing down afterwards as i don't wash down afterwards. the motor gets flushed and washed and the rods get a rinse and that's it. i make exceptions if there are a few bay prawns hiding around inside or i have blooded up the floor. the beauty of owning an old tinny...
fishing's as simple as 3 P's - patience, perserverance and PLASTIC!

Reading this felt familiar somehow. Wasn't sure why until I looked back at some old threads.

    Re: The perfect deckie.

Im a bit confused with the posts.. maybe its late i dunno.. i had a look at the previous threads etc and Aus was saying he is sorry for stuff he has done previously.. Mate are you talking about years ago or recently as the other threads were from 2007.. I never assume that peoples circumstances are as simple as they seem as i i myself have at one stage peered out of a deep dark hole i thought i would never get out of financially. I can remember just looking at cars driving past thinking why dont i even have this most simple of things that everyone else has... I shudder to remember but also realise that it doesnt take much ( as mentioned before) for things to swing back the way they once were.
I personally know one friend that was a massive property developer with more money and assets that most of us could only dream of, going from that (pre GFC) to running a failing fish and chip shop and cooking my lunch.
Mate all i can say is its not a dress rehersal, and the moment i started blaming myself and not others (ex wife) for my financial position the quicker i came up with answers and plans to fix stuff.
    Good luck Aus.
dont knock on deaths door... ring the doorbell and run... death hates that!!

    Hey Aus,

Mate I don't know you but I recognise the dark place you talk about as I have been there.

I think it takes alot to put an apology out there like that and I commend you for it. This forum can be pretty bitchy and I got sick of it all a couple of years ago so stopped participating. I wasn't the target of it but just found it to be a negative place.I have just in the last week or so started to look through the threads again and I find this one. Looks like nothing much has changed then. Mate, hang in there and look around for another forum, if you can get an apology like that rejected then these people are not the right ones to be hanging around.

I am on AFO, I don't do much offshore but I hit the bay and estuaries a bit. I have the same name on there. Stay positive mate and keep fishing. For what it is worth, if you can make an apology like that then you have turned the corner mate.

    Cheers,

    Bill

Hey Bill..the only bitchiness is from that Boat Hog two who has stolen Boat Hogs identity and is only on here for a shit stir, the problem is that he's not very good or clever at it like Kerry.

Don't let people like that put you off, there are a lot of good people on here, myself included.
