Compression Test, what should it be

Had a compression test done on our 75 Mercury 2 stroke, was 125 on all cylinders apparently.
    Is this within specs?

Nothing wrong with that at all, good result particularly if that was done at cold crank.

I myself have no probs buying anything Merc 2 stroke as low as 100psi cold crank as long as they are all within approx 5% of each other.

You did not mention the year but the 3 cyl models from the early 90's through were great blocks.

Yeah, its a 2000 model, we've had it since new, got 260hrs on it, had an excursion with lack of oil when up the gulf and were worried we'd done some damage. It's been running fine, just had to get a test done.
