    Which Poppers?

Hey Gang, Looking for some advice on poppers. I am looking for some to throw over the shallow reefs in Pancake creek. Any advice appreciated.
    Cheers

Any popper at all in the 65-125mm range will work there, my main preference being 75mm length.
Dawn poppering there results in some of the most breathtaking bustups.
    Have fun.

Thanks mate. What weight rig would you recommend? I was thinking of using my 30lb spin rig. Either that or my 30lb bait caster but was concerned that I couldn't get a big enough cast with it.

I would use my 15/30lb Shimano Terez rod with my 5000 Shimano Stradic reel loaded with 15lb Power Pro yellow braid with 20lb Fluro carbon leader. Peter

How do you access Pancake creek. Is there a camp site and ramp there or do you run up from 1770, Peter.

Only access is by boat. Run up from 1770 either as a day trip or overnight there.

You can run around from Turkey Beach as well.....better ramp there from memory and less tourists.

There was road access to the lighthouse. Not sure about it now. In a smaller boat you can run from Middle Creek to pancake

    Re: Which Poppers?

Did the Larc tour up there the other day and was told that the only vehicle access to that area is at a point called the narrows. That is where middle creek and pancake creek meet. It is only passable at low tide. There is no vehicle camping allowed though as far as I can make out. It is boat access camping only.
We plan to do a camping trip up there once the middle creek camp grounds re open. I may take the big boat in by water and have the dinghy on the camper to cover all options.
