    Unhappy Fitzroy River Rockhampton.

Fished from the city reached right down to Satelite Island. Casting and trolling. Flicked soft plastics also. Zero fish. Water was 100% fresh the whole way. The only life I saw was sea snakes.

aus it doesnt seem like you are doing a lot wrong but it seems luck is also not on your side
I have a friend who lives in that area and he is forever posting pics on facebook of jacks grunter barra and many more he is pulling from those rivers so the fishing must be reasonable.
Sounds like you need to go back to basics perhaps, get out there with some fresh prawns and flesh baits. You know what areas fish are likely to hold in, target those areas for a while. This way you will at least catch smaller fish and once you pull 1 or 2 decent fish, then maybe go back with some soft plastics to suit.
You need to build your confidence back up somehow!
Dad reckons fishing is 10% brains and 95% muscle, the rest is just good luck.

I'm off to Coorooman ck tomor to fish the flood tide over the flats. Going back to prawns live yabbies. And whatever else I can catch in the cast net. Will prob fick a bubble pop or 2 right up in the shallow bays like i do down at yamba just for a laugh.

Hey Aus: I'm a born and bred rocky Fisher. You don't seem to be having much luck but to give you a couple of leads, Have a look down around the Thompson Point area for run-off as there's been a few king and barra caught down there recently. Also out around the mouth of Cooroman, Theres been some big grunter caught on bait, with lights winds tommorow, that could be the go.

I really hope your luck improves, as there is some really good fishing around here.
