Does anyone know if it would be worth targeting dollies this weekend? or is the water getting to cold? Also what are your preferred rigs and baits?
Thx

hi mate there hasn't been any dollies around at cape Morton this season yet and the water temp is 26-27 deg and my opinion is they prefer skipping gar with or without a coloured skirt.
cheers jim
Plenty of Dollies before Christmas off Point Lookout. Trolling works well with a skirt or a gar in a skirt. If they are holding on floating structure a livie is best but at times a Pilly will do the trick

Thanks guys for the info. I'm sneaking out tomorrow but will probably bottom bash all day now.
Went out of Ballina this morning, Ive never seen the ocean so devoid of bird life. We saw maybe 2 birds all day, one of them following our lures. Water was 25c out wide but only 23 in closer. Didnt hook anything trolling, not even a bump. Bottom bashing saw a mixed bag brought home tho so I wont starve.
