Gladstone trip 9/10 March

Had enough of the bad weather in Brissy so a mate and I hooked up his boat and drove up to Gladstone. We had heard the barra were on in the boyne river and fished for 18 hours straight on saturday ( on the water at 0530 & crawled into bed at 0030) only got one trevally but made up for it with muddies!! Tried every lure and plastic we had but no luck. Only saw three barra landed all weekend. My mate has a humminbird sounder with side scan, what a great piece of technology. Will be looking for one at the tackle and tinnie show.

I think those barra have seen a million lures in the last few weeks. A mate and I were the only boat to score a good barra amongst a fair few boats the other week. Talked to a couple of guys who made a big trip from Newcastle who were struggling aswell. I haven't heard of much being caught lately but the weather has been terrible and coolish.
