Latest build - "John Price" rod

Finished this one last night. It's a build for a family friend. My fingers don't work too well at the moment (last stages of chemo, fingers turned numb) however I'm happy with the way it turned out.

Aweswome Dave i also love the 3 piece travel rods that are available now, they are so handy.I like the way you have put the name on an angle.I too am also curious about how the guides perform as i can get these cheaper than mudhole sell them. Great to see your back

Re: Latest build - "John Price" rod

Thanks guys, it's great to be back. I have test cast these Microwave guides a thousand times on my road (funny looks from neighbours) and I think they are great. The first guide tames the loops of line coming off the reel, allowing it to then shoot through the remaining micro guides. I am impressed with them.

The angled name lets me get a larger image in the space and looks a little more stylish IMO.

I have a thing for the 3 piece rods now. So convenient to transport compared to a 1 piece rod.

We need another RBW soon I think!

    cheers

Great build Dave. That black with a silver accent is really stunning. The black really highlights the cork as well. Hope you are feeling better and thinks are on the improve.

Thanks for the message Mark, I appreciate it. Things are getting better and got some great news from the Doctor today, so now I can focus on the future.

It's funny how good things come out of bad situations. After rethinking priorities I realised rod building should be up much higher in my list. Focussing on building rods for the last few months has had an amazing effect on my motivation and well being.

So the moral of my story is to build more rods and share the info - it is good for you! And it makes the wife reluctant to say no to that next purchase of more components. Most important :-)

    Cheers
