I was sitting at home today doing nothing and thought I will go for a fish at Scarborough this afternoon just of the beach front.
So I grabbed an old rod and some old frozen mullet fillets I had in the freezer for about a year now...hehe.. and headed off.
Got there and thought this bait has got some smell about, but used it anyway.
No more then five minutes and the rod bent over and was off, well it was carrying on and thought it might be some sought of vermon shark, after a couple of minutes to get it ashore low and behold a nice 50cm squire.
Got it off the rig and sent another bait out and attended to the fish I had caught.
Got back to my rod and off it went again and pulled another 50cm in.
Re-rigged and the same thing happened three more times but they where getting smaller so I released one just around the 40cm mark and headed off home while they where still on the chew.
So basically went there for about an hour and got over my bag limit.
Going to be some nice feeds if I get any crabs out of the Pine this weekend.
A fisherman that understates the length of his catch! That's rare! Do I need my glasses on or is that 1st one 51 or 52cm with the nose hard up against the front of the brag mat? Whatever, that's a great effort man, thanks for the report.
