Re: waterproof ipad cases
Have had an OVERBOARD brand case for a year or so now for the i pad. No drama at all. Think I might have picked up at Bias??
Used the i pad as plotter when lost antenna six months ago. Certainly was able to plot course and save etc.
Have also got overboard i phone case a few years old now which goes on every kayaking trip. Have had a few dunkings with no water ingress. Good gear
Cheers

Re: waterproof ipad cases
Thanks everyone for the input muchly appreciated.
I really need to be able to mount this as well and I like the ram mount idea sounds spot on.
Armour also looks the goods.

Re: waterproof ipad cases
+1 for the Overboard one - I use an IPAD 1 with the navionics suite (you have to buy the HD version for the IPAD which around $50) and use the overboard pod with a RAM mount (which is designed for the waterproof case). I went through the same process about 6 months ago and so far its works really well. IPAD1 does struggle a little in full sunlight though (mainly not an issue as mostly the IPAD is in the shade). Have a look at this thread to see what I ended up with as my solution:
