Guys I'm getting a new combo for my boat and would like some info on which one of these 3 would be the best? There all around he same price and have a 7" screen.

mate i am pretty happy with my lowrance HDS 7 SS gen 1 mainly use in the bay but cant comment on the bird or garmin as dont have either but its pretty hard to buy a crap sounder at that $ price now days - if i had my time again though i would buy the hds 8 as a bigger screen 4 way split windows and has soft keys and a better picture - but if your an off shore guy then maybe consider the furuno for sureOriginally Posted by mitch_wahoo

I decided on going the hds 7 gen 2 As in my opinion better the beast you know. Its only going in my tinny so i thought the garmintouch screens would be out of place constantly with a dirty screen etc. As Rob said a hds 8 would be nice! But there is a big rice jump.
Another option would be a simrad nss7 they r on sale ATM for $1400. Contemplating getting one myself for the top of my dash..
Cheers guys, I ended up getting the garmin 750s. Its on sale at bias at the moment for $1245
I just decided on a furuno 627 and a used seiwa gps. Hard to know with these decisions but I gave the Lowrance a mark down because once they are out of warranty they're an expensive throw away job if something goes wrong and they are not the most reliable of units.
Very poor from navico not being able to service their units.
