    Gt's off the Sunshine Coast

Has anyone ever tried to specifically target GT's from any of the rocky headlands along the Sunshine coast in a boat. I know they are there, but to what degree I am not sure. Any advice would be appreciated

Try around the shallow reefs when there is a good blow on - Bray Rock and Raper Shoal. They love the white water going across a bit of a hole.

Cheers for that Jeremy. I had a look from the lighthouse at Point Cartright and the head land there looked like it had some likely water below. Also was thinking Old Woman might have some possibilities. How far does Raper Shoal come up?

have caught them at coolum/yaroomba headland in numbers , nothing massive tho.
brays rock would be a good place to try as there can be lots of current and white water there at times , does hold some good fish as well..

All sounds like great advice and I have a good plan of attack now....thanks to all. Will keep you posted of any future attempts. This week end doesn't look so good weather wise and they are predicting swell up to 4 meters

I've only got them at Noosa Headland. They get on Caloundra Head as well. Remember old footage from the Brownies Coastwatch days of guys spinning them up there with Raiders. Few good queenies at Caloundra as well. Not heard of them from Old Woman, only dart/tailor etc and the odd snapper. If they are at Caloundra Head they should be at Brays. Not heard of anything much off Cartwright other than grassys, snapper and tailor.

I remember that episode as well - one spectacular shot of a gt chasing down the slug in a wave, if I remember correctly. I've thrown countless slugs off the very same position as in that article (inspired by same) with no result.

Yep smithy, i"ve thrown countless slugs, poppers and minnows at the wash around mudjimba for not a touch from G.T's. I did once get a double hookup of big tealeaf trevs on trolled livies past there though. Ben

Hey Smithy, have you caught any decent size GT's on poppers around Noosa Headland on poppers or just smaller size ones?

    Cheers Cody
