What do you think this is? Half toadfish, half stonefish looking thing. Caught 2 of them up at Deepwater creek around Christmas time

Stargazer- ugly as hell but tasty. Fist one I ever caught threw back wondering what the hell it was, didn't want to touch it. Found out shoulda kept it great eating. Have never thrown one back since.

Yeah thanks blokes. It felt a lot more "toadfish" like than I would have expected the stargazer to be like, but obviously I didn't really know. I was much like you JB, didn't want my fingers anywhere near his mouth.
I'll give one a taste next time

If you ever happen to keep one, try at all costs to avoid rupturing the gall bladder when filleting, not a very nice experience! Other then that they are great chewing!
