Thanks for all the feedback and your thoughts, the Polycraft fuel tank looks like a bitch. The 4.8m in NSW makes it interesting, might have to be 5m min then. Early days lots of looking to do yet.

Having seen your love of restoring older boats to things of beauty, have a squizz at graysonline at the moment at the 4.95 Hooker dory. It's in poor condition to look at but I'd think it'd be a perfect project as an open boat and you'll end up with a hull that rewards. I know you said no glass, but they have no timber and are built like tanks.

What about a plate boat. My 4.8 and goes everywhere I want so far. the lead time getting 1 built might be problem and costs?

If I can get a cheap one second hand ok. Only need it for the bay and up creeks, doubt I'll go offshore unless it's like glass.
