Is there still an issue with buying Lowrance GPS/Finders from the US? I do remember there was a geotagging restriction or something like that.Which prevented us here in Aus from buying Lowrance electronics from the US.
I'm keen to buy an HDS8 Gen2 but not sure of the implication's.

Ive been looking at some stuff and had a look at what your looking at and this is what each of the units indicates
"This is the North American version not intended for use out of North America. Lowrance has installed Geo Fencing on the units which causes them to only operate in US language and measures as well as display a flashing "not valid for use in this area" on the bottom of the screen when taken outside the Americas."
Maybe you need to buy Lowrance here or get something else thats not fenced in little doggy!Cheers

i am no lawyer but i suspect that may constitute a restraint of personal freedom of choice and of buyer choice - surprised if they have actually done it rather than suggesting that it may be done
