    Port of Briz (catties)

When out to the port this morning with the father in law to catch some snaps "that was the plan". The wind was blowing and white caps near the ramp. On the water at 4am and proceeded to the spot that never fails, but today was different. The waves bearing down on us which made it a bit uncomfortable, but didn't worry us it was apparently getting down to around 8 knots early morning. Guess what, wrong it blew and blew all morning.

Caught the first cattie and was in disbelief, never caught one there before in that spot. Went to some different locations to try with no luck, not even little nibbles. All we could muster up was 3 catties and a pike. Finished up at 11:30. Was a hard day at the office but there's alway next time.

The weather this summer is weird, I mean a lot of hot days a lot of wind, not much rain.
Most probably will make your good spots weird as well.
I'm hanging out there for late summer rain and winter.

Yep I feel you, I went out with my dad and family on Thursday arvo from 3pm-8pm and We wanted to goto Mud island to catch some snaps but BOM said 10-15 but really it was 20+ with allot of rogue waves. We fished some good snapper spots on the port but only got 2 big eels and 1 big catfish.. And from the looks of the weather its going to be bad for a while..

MRD- on the sounder was reading 27 deg, a little warm maybe. I think we'll all be waiting for the cold weather to come rolling in.

GB- was going to try at the tip of the port but got as far as the 2nd last crane. Those waves your talking about, the very start of the run out. So the decision was made to go back into some shelter.

Dylan- always done really good with some wind but no wind found it a little hard.

Alan- I felt you were scheming up a plan like that. I was thinking of work to, I lie

I cannot seem to catch anything other than catfish in the Brisbane River at the moment. Oh together with the hammerhead shark I caught near Boggy Creek this morning.

I've found if I go near the gateway that's all I seem to catch.

We've found you need to be at the fishing location before first light. There's about an hour, hour and a half for prime time. After that, it dies off and you have to work hard for it.
