Do your self a favor and give Daniel a call at Pelagic Boats, the boats they are producing are awesome. they can supply an unpainted hull ready to be fitted out on one of there alloy trailers. ive been on there 6.8m hard top and the new 6.1m Island Cab, both incredible boats.

Mine is the 6.25 with a 175 on the back.

Try petergar as his is a 6.8 with a 225hp on the back - he would have had it long enough now to have some numbers for you.

My comments on performance of this particular model and motor are based on a few owners comments and boat reviews saying the same.

I nearly bought the 6.8 but didn't and the person who did get the 6.8 model alongside my 6.25 expressed a need for the 250hp on his boat.

Petergar will give you his impressions if you contact him about his boat - not the one I mentioned above. I am not bagging the boat and I am sure he loves it but given a rerun at it - there would be a 250hp on the back.

Perhaps "slug" is a bit harsh but if it needs more power to get up and dance with some under it's belt then so be it.

I have had the 6.25 Noble for a few years now and have been very closely following the comments on this model and the 6.8 Noble for about 5 years now and have heard from 2 or 3 owners the boat could really do with a 250hp and 1 or 2 boat reviews saying the same.

If you are happy to have a smaller motor good for you - I wouldn't and I am not one to try and reach max or better power - as I said my hull is rated to 200hp and it is fine with the motor I got a 175hp but on the 6.8 I would not put a 225hp - I would put a 250hp. I have had my boat sit alongside the 6.8m boat - it's appears a much bigger boat.

My impressions take it or leave it but do talk to an owner and I have recommended one.

Or you can talk to an owner who did get the 6.8 and uprated it to the 250hp :-

Another option for plateys is to look in NZ. Check out Trademe as they have some bloody nice boats on there and a good exchange rate.

    Thanks!
AMM make a great boat and you will be very happy with one of there boats, I would say they are at the top of the list for plate boats, I would clearly stay away from the noble boats as i know of a guy with a 7.5 and is having so much trouble with cracks around cab and transom and its a 2007 model, his noble is not the only one having these problems....also give these guys a call and IMO make awesome plate boats, bit high in the price tag thou
