    585 vs 620

Thinking about the sounder arrangement I will want to put in my new boat hopefully. I would like to get a furuno not sure if it is worth getting the 585 or settle for the 620. I realise that the pixel count is no where near the 585. I would probably go with a 600 w thru hull transducer?(any reason why not) I don't think I require a 1kw. I will mainly use the furuno to compare side imaging and reef fishing in the deeper water up to the 150m mark any info would be appreciated boat will be a 5.5 galey.

    Cheers Andrew

587 is the current model and if the extra cost is not an issue, def go that over a 627.
The screen size and detail on the 587 is awesome.

    Hi Schulzy,

I've got the 585 with the 600W through hull. For the money you spend it is an impressive setup. Mine still reads well at over 30 knots with the through hull. You wont go wrong. I hear the 587 is better again.

Good luck with it mate.Hope this helps.

    Cheers

    Thanks Schulzy,

Spent years slugging it out working away to save the cash for the new vessel. Always wanted to do it. Lucky I got a good sheila that lets me do what I want!!

I got the airmar P319 600W plastic through hull mate. They are around $130. Got mine from Trymax.

    Cheers
