Mate that is among the worst offences on the road in my view. It amazes me how many people are oblivious to any one eslse on the road, and drive well under the speed limit everywhere. If its 100, they drive 80-90. If its 80, they drive 60. If its 60, they drive 40-50.
And get this, there is another class of slow annoying driver. Having held up the traffic, by driving slow, until there is 20 vehichles built up behind them, they come onto an overtaking section. You think, Great! we will get past! No Way! these turkeys now speed up by 20 kms an hour! and minimise how many peole can get past! you have to go like the clappers to get past them. Now that my friend, is way up there in the worst driving habits of all time!!

All roadworks have been suspended until 7 January, go slow zones around suspeneded roadworks were only a minor inconvenience and roads were mostly OK with the usual crappy bits around Childers, Gin Gin and Miriam Vale...

Biggest dramas were impatient drivers and idiots that sit on 80kmh in 100kmh zones without letting built up traffic behind them go by...

I don't mind the caravaners going at 80 or 90. So long as they hug the left edge when there's a bit of straight road and ease off the loud pedal when someone is coming past then it's all good.

My pet hate is drivers hogging the centre line when you're behind them.

Your going to see a lot more of them. The TMR budget for next year is about 1/2 of what it has been for the last 3 years.

As the road degrades and is no longer rated as safe for 100kph, the speed limits get reduced. They have been doing it for about 10 years now, but the last few years has started to pick up the pace.

Pretty simple really, you only spend about 20% of what needs to be spent on your asset and it will obviously degrade.

Joe public doesn't seem to be making any noise about it which astounds me, but there you go.

I drove Brisbane to Gladstone and back yesterday, and my pet hate is everybody that drives at least 110 no matter what the posted speed limit. There was one nose to tail at the Turkey Beach turnoff, and numerous other close shaves.

I now use the burnett highway. Did Sunnie coast to rocky today via gym pie kilkivan then onto Burnett. No trucks 1 caravan no speed cameras no highway patrol no stupid 90s no roadworks. Probably 30 k longer but an hour quicker than last time I drove the Bruce. North of rocky is fine
