    Cape Moreton Marlin Wed 02Jan2013

4-2-2 = 1st marlin each for both mate Steve & I, plus a little YF tuna for good measure. Many many hours of study, dreaming and toil has finally paid off ... not to mention the $$$$$$$$$$ of fuel, tackle, etc, etc. There is something about this style of fishing ... and when it comes together .. WOW .

Manys thanks to eldest son for letting me use all the flash murray gear. It works a treat mate !! Maybe one day you'll get one .

Was a great day on the water with several reports of fish though not in big numbers. Some boats will hang all sorts of stuff over the side to attract fish . I hear they popped some cherries for southern visitors as well.

Great stuff Mal. Sure is worth it when it all comes together.

I thought I heard your call sign on the radio yesterday. I was on a mates boat off the Gold Coast. We saw one tinny tag a marlin, but generally seemed to be a very slow day on the water. We had NW winds and didn't raise a marlin, though we did end up with a couple of spotties and a striped tuna.

    Congrats!

Great job I think your first marlin only makes them more addictive!!! Could my first at 14 and still had a massive buzz yesterday at 38!!!
