    Eastern Cod Recovery Plan

I emailed fisheries a while back when the recovery plan was approaching its end and asked for an update on behalf of a newspaper I was writing for at the time and got no response. Hearsay suggests that the cod is thriving at the moment in the entirety of the Mann and Nymboida and even in the Orara and upper Clarence. The plan was to implemented over a 10 year period and should be finished by now but I have heard nothing about the results of it. Does anyone have any idea about it? Any results?

    Re: Eastern Cod Recovery Plan

I did quite a bit of work with fisheries at Grafton a few years ago, i wouldnt say that they are thriving. Fishing is still a huge issue for the Cod, on a number of occasions we would see people targeting Cod and would often come across carcasses. Being a research team we had no power to stop people. Please dont quote me on any of this, but a lot of work still needs to be done to protect the Cod.
