    Popeyes first Marlin

Well third time lucky thanks to some wise advise from a couple of ausfishers....Headed out on Saturday the 15th to what was a large swell hitting the spb but was greeted to near perfect conditions offshore. Plan was to first up troll for some who....well they didnt want to play so our next target was marlin....after arriving at our intended troll spot and within a couple of minutes Ideas (popeye) was on, the vibe of seeing your mate land their first marlin is very rewarding but unfortunately this fish could not be revived and our earlier high soon came crashing down Trolled for about another hour for onemore hookup only for this fish to spit the hook mid air. Headed out to the waverider bouy for some fun with the dollies and kings only managing to find one keeper....back to the who spot in the arvo and it was on fire....five hoo two rat fins and left them on the chew before the tide got to low , awesome day on the water and will be back out there next weekend.
    Cheers MM

    Re: Popeyes first Marlin

Perry its pretty special to see your mate bust his Billie cherry. I guess the extra research paid off big time. Thats a nice bag of Hoo to top it off.
I was going to give you a call to perservere with the area off lookout. It was due to fire and I had a feeling you were headed North
As for keeping the fish. Whats the problem? Its just another pelagic and if it eats fine you are quite a few meals ahead.

    How good was that Craig???

When splitting the catch does not mean a fillet or two each, but whole fish... That's what I call fishin!

Well done Perry , the accolades must always start with the skipper and goes from there.
