Thread: plenty from the bay 9/12/12

Re: plenty from the bay 9/12/12

Mick, as his trainer, I advised the points of reference for the day. The triangulaltion of current drift, against the ever changing wind patterns, and the water temp divided by the high tide time, produced results relative to the selected GPS positioning number 11.
    Hope that helps.

    Thanks David,

I now understand. Rosco explained all that to me but he told me to divide it by the LOW tide time. Also told me the wrong boat ramp, wrong meeting time, wrong day, and even the wrong fu#kn bay. Took me two days to get to Jervis Bay and i find out he is in Morteon Bay. Was late for work today because of this and to make matters worse i had to give myself an official and final warning. Come to think of it, i hope he chokes on his Fu#kn crabs. I bet he has a new deckie too. Its all good David, i will pay the 10k course fee and become one of your new students and we will show him. lol

    Cheers Mick

Rosco, The flights are booked you are saying Perth but i have made travel arrangements for the 1200klm trip north to exmouth as i recon thats the ramp you will be useing.

David, If you want to see him cranky wait for the day he finds the tracking devices i put on his boat, his trailer and not to mention the waterproof ones i attached to his crab pots. And he thought i was a top bloke to help with some cleaning and maintenance.

Nice job Rosco, I have a bit of trouble finding them around our area (Wynnum/Manly) this time of year, usually put the pots away until Feb, good one.

The Sandies are still in the Bay. I think they are just more dispersed in deeper water. For the last few years the only time I have chased them is around Xmas/New Year when I spend a few days out on the water. I find they are much harder to come across in any numbers at this time of year compared to the Spring/Autumn runs around Green etc. This time of year I have pulled a feed from areas such as Compass Bouy, West Peel, Rous, and deep off the Sandhills.

Rosco, u are the skipper, let the deckies pull the ropes, think last time i saw you dad was pulling them in, ok only 3 metres deep, now all i have to do is work out where the 6 metre area you crab in is.....had to buy 3 last weekend fro a crab dip for friends, $19-50 for 3,..... ouch

Hey Rosco, I'll follow your recommendation which pots to buy, have not chased sandies since witches hat dillies were banned and need to get a set of 4 for myself. Don't mind quality and paying for it ... I see a 4 entry pot on one website is NSW and NT only...

Well done again mate - I will be doing some overnight soaks during my holiday break hopefully.

    Cheers
