    nice moreton snapper

hi all. waited for the wind to ease last night before shooting across the bay to moreton and running up the inside to tangas. mate bruce (dundo1) took his boat too and todddo rode shotgun for him. averaged 8 knots crossing a quite unpleasant bay. arrived at tangas at 12.30am just in time for a quick beer with shy gays, humdinger and ideas. as they were getting up at 3.30 it was a short lived party and everyone was off to bed. was woken up well after dawn by bruce. don't know how harry didn't wake me up when he left with that noisy 2 stroke of his. anyways we off and went to m7 and jigged a few livies and lost a couple to toothy critters unknown and unwilling to take slugs.
moved a bit closer back to shore and drifted livies and cuttlefish heads. lost all my livies in double time with zero connections. found myself about halfway between bulwer and curtin in 80 feet of water and rod up front goes off. just finished landing a small snap when rod at the back goes off. this was a much better specimen and small snap had to flounder around on deck (later successfully released) whilst big snap makes his way into the net. at 82cm he was well worth the crap trip there (and back).

Dave, you really need to update your avatar. That looks WAY too much like a regular fishing shirt for a man of your refined dress standards.

Well I wish they would shut the bay down for fishing because going by the reports here there are no fish left in the bay. Just keep it open tomorrow for me. Even though I have not caught one but it seems have been a good Snapper season.
