    Transducer mounting advice

In the process of fitting trim tabs and seeking advice. How far from the tabs should the transducer be mounted? Is it more important to the further from prop or trim tab?

    Thanks

I had QL tabs on my last boat, I mounted the 'ducer on the port side (even though your not supposed to) 100mm or so outside the prop diametre probably not even that much.

I could read at 30+ knts no worries.

    Re: Transducer mounting advice

Wherever you have the cleanest water and I don't believe that the prop is a big issue with an outboard. There are some out there mounted directly in front of the leg and working fine. With a shaft drive you would have to consider the prop.
I have one each side and they are about 300mm from the centreline and QL tabs start about 220mm further up. They both work pretty well up to a decent cruise speed.
