It is amazing the different answers you can get from different people within the DPI.
A few of us had this same discussion this time last year after some guys caught quite a few Barra in the Noosa River over a 2 or 3 day period.
I contacted the DPI for clarification on the issue of taking photographs of a regulated fish (ie:Barra in closed season) and the answer was that we are allowed to quickly measure and photograph the fish provided the fish was released WITHOUT HARM.
I also queried the term Immediately and according to the dpi it was as quickly as possible without causing harm to the fish.
I also queried the deliberate targeting of sharks over 1.5m in length and they said it is illegal to do so yet another person asked the same question and they were told they can as long as they release the fish without harm and do not have any fish over 1.5m in their possession.
I'd love to know who from the DPI is posting these articles to see if it is from the same person I was talking to 12 months ago or someone different.
