A few firsts and a PB

Just spent a few days drinking.... I mean fishing off 1770 and got onto these bad boys.

The first of the firsts was a couple of red throat emperor caught on a Yozuri lure.

The second first was a coral trout caught on the same lure.

All of these fish go extremely hard in 5m of water as I found out on my 2nd cast with a brand new $30 popper which got smashed and buried in the coral before I even realised what had happened

The third first was finally catching something on a knife jig. I have had a pile of these for a few years but couldn't be bothered with the effort of using them properly so decided to use them as sinkers instead The first one was a bit of a surprise but the second one I named the Hussar Handbag

And finally my PB red at 12kg which from the picture you can tell I am pretty happy about

    conditions look superb. Awesome red!!!
I read an article on trolling hardbodies for snaps, so not suprised about the other reefies taking a minnow.
    Congrats on the PB

Marto that would have been a fun session, lures on the reef face are such a hi as you never know what will happen. Love it well done

Justin the first couple of pics were Fri afternoon in the lagoon and the others were out wide on Sat. We only copped the wind on Fri night thats why we opted for the lagoon, that and the fact we were completely knackered.
