    Scarbrough Snaps 2/12/2012

Thinking the weather was going to be up the shit again today I decided to do the right thing and get some more excercise I have been quite a bit of walking of late to try and drop some weight. Was up at 3.30 this morning looked outside hmmm no wind got me walking shoes on and off I went. Got down the end of the street to see the bay totally glassed out YES sprinted back home got the tinny got changed and off I went had some pillies left in the freezer after the last trip and some squid defrosted that in some water hit my spot X and it was not long before it was on burlighed up rod out and wack nice 42cm snapp hits the ice a few 30-33cm ones came after that and before long another good hit and a 40cm hits the ice there must have been some good bait fish around as there were quite a few turtles about and alot of big stingrays jumping out of the water I come in at about 8.30 as it blew up but got a feed and had a great early morning on the water.Has been a great day all round really nice warm weather and I got to pick up my new Diawa Catalina 15-20kg spin rod today from Tackleworld Sandgate I had on Layby and started another layby on a new Diawa Catalina 5000 Spin reel.

Yeah DD the baitfish were pretty active and it was on an incoming tide the snapps were pretty hungry as these 2 swallowed both baits.

What a great way to start the day mate. I am sure you will love your new rod. Now you have your new reel to look forward to, so it doesnt get much better than that. Nice rod and a nice new reel when you pick it up. Hope you finished the day with a coldie.

    Cheers, Mick.

Well done, mate. She was dead on Friday, no snaps, or anything of note. Great result, and glad you got a window before the bas$ard wind returned.

Good stuff mate sounds like a good use of the morning and some fun to boot. Spent mine collecting sticks in the paddock with the wife. Hopefully the winds are good for the next trip. Tight lines - Mossy
