    Few flathead about

Just a quick report fellows. Hit the creek at first light today in hope for a few flathead. Armed with just plastics, it was a bit slow at first on the last of the ebb tide. When the tide turned, got three in quick succession. Biggest going 60cm. Good fun on 2lb braid and 6lb leader. Christened the new nitro rod and stradic ci4. This combo rocks. The plastic that did the damage was a zoom 4" super fluke junior in baby bass colour. First time i ever used it and they are good. Still in perfect condition after three flathead. Jighead was a TT 1/8oz 3/0.

Nice fish and top setup Josh.

I reckon casting a 1/8" jig head with that gear would be like throwing an anchor on 10kg gear. Must be getting close to the top of the range! The plastic looks nice too and looks very similar in style to The Berkeley Powerbaits that work so well but are only good for 1 bite.

Are these as durable as Zmans and if so where do you get them?

    Thanks for the post,

    Mal

Hi Mal, sorry about the late reply mate. I dont think the zooms are as durable as zmans or the snapbacks but they will definately last more than one bite. Really just depends on how much the fish bite at it during the fight. You can get zoom plastics from just about anywhere.
    Cheers. Josh
