Two PB's at Peel

I feel I should warn they are only PB's because it's the first time we had caught them

Went out from Cleveland on saturday morning with a deckie (who gets sea sick on a surf board) to peel. Got there on the high tide and burlied up as we were fishing bait (as we both can't catch a trick on SPs).

Plenty of fish about for the first hour but nothing quite legal, then it all happened at once. My mate started of with a just legal bream, then we both got busted off by some thing with a bit of size, we were on using light gear as we never expect to catch a monster, (we still haven't) but he did manage to land a blue barred parrot fish at 32cm (1st PB) and I managed to land my first trevally at about 36cm (2nd PB). A few more under size bream then all quiet again.

So we headed over to blaksleys for a bit of a scouting mission for a possible future camping trip, while there we managed to earn 2 nice cold beers for "rescuing" two chaps who didn't want to swim back to their very nice big boat because the zodiacs 4hp motor decided to die on them.

So for a few novices it was a pretty good day by our standards my mate even managed to not throw up!

Nice boat and nice fich boyz. those lost fish would have been good fish so always drop one out in the deeper water with heavier line and you will bag a good one. Cheers DD.....

Great effort, I wish we had fish like that up here in Central Qld.
I miss Peel, great spot.
