Nice squire.
The threadys have been a bit thin lately, makes me wonder as it was common to hook a 90cm+ in the river a year or so ago.

Hi there I mentioned on monday I'd have a go for a threadie this week so I had a leisurely morning start coffee and toastie at the bakery and off to the ramp. Arrived gentlemans hours and a couple of casts of the net had a nice tank of livies... Went to a spot I thought they may be and wasn't dissapointed as I came tight on a good fish that was no doubt a threadie due to the way it acted .I thought I was in solid but after about 2 mins I pulled the hooks on the fish I did actually land another but I don't know if you count this bloke but it was the target species anyway a few squire turned up and they were knocking off my livies but hey ended up with a nice feed of fresh fish.. Good eating size. Might have to give it a second go and get there a little earlier and drop the coffee and toastie Cheers

Hi mate, the last few seasons of heavy rainfall and bad floods occurred just after their breeding season and this may have tipped the balance. Especially to fingerlings. Bait school shows on the sounder seem to be a lot smaller also and gathering livies can sometimes be a bit harder these days. There's still fish to be caught...
thats the smallest one ive seen chief. hope they come back to what they have been in the last couple of years.

Yeh mate smallest one i've caught, me and a mate were amazed as we got a heap of real small ones in the cast net a while back. We were checking them out and couldn't believe the features defiantly not putty nose they were little threadfin about 6 inches long.
Good stuff chief, tasty looking feed of snaps there. I had a go yesterday also. Found some monster flatties ,squire, cod and also pulled the hooks on some large fish. Couldn't get to the white island ramp in the morning as the level crossing boom gates had malfunctioned! Ben
Where did you put in yesterday mate, I put in a colmslie ramp. Good during the week just avoid it like the plague on the week end only trouble is a choppy old ride back home.
Actually went over the bridge and put in at pinkenba. What a mongrel of a ramp with the wind blowing and solo! Luckily another bloke gave me a hand. Ben
nice one!! i hve caught a few half that size in the cast net at pinkenba boat ramp.. and yep that one counts mate, target species successfully targeted
dont knock on deaths door... ring the doorbell and run... death hates that!!
