hi all. well if the title has you looking for a monster snap in the hands of a trendy dude i am sorry to disappoint you. mildly disappointed myself too. the plan was this: take out old mate who missed out saturday to harries, catch 2 big snaps and go home. plan b was head to peel to fish and then ride home the afternoon se wind. didn't quite pan out that way. long, hard day today. started at harries about 6am. few little bumps and small fish but nothing else. moved to the spoil ground north and not even little bumps. about 8 i made the call and headed for the houseboat but there was too much current there and the lecky couldn't hold us so did a couple of drifts of the arties for some littlies and then anchored on the edge of horseshoe looking for a sweetie. gave that a while before going for a troll to myora without so much as a grinner even. then packed in the trolling and tried for a tusky. dropped a banana prawn on a paternoster and did a few drifts in the rainbow. caught a few snaps my mate reckons were legal but they looked small to me and get to play another day. third drift and i get a good hit and i'm on. got him up off the bottom pretty quick and was surprised how much he put in the rest of the way. i would say it had the same sort of steam as a 5kg snap. at 54cm and 3.4kg he is my best bay black spot.
and i somehow either stuffed up reading the forecast last night or it changed because i slapped a noreaster side on all the way back and got drenched through
