Noticed today when I tilted the motor up the engine and cowling moved forward a cm or so .i got out of the boat and had a look and under the cowling where the motor sits on top of the leg if you push on the cowling the motor rocks back and forward where the drive shaft goes into the leg between the cowling and top of the leg like a gromet or something is missing does any one know what the problem would be or the fix or cost of getting it done
Thanks
Shane
the motor and leg are mounted on rubber mountings, and some movement is indeed normal, but maybe yours is too much to be normal? without better explaination or a picture, we can only guess.
Sorry Guys I cocked up it is the the tiller handle where it goes into the top of the leg the motor moves back and forth when you tilt it up or push on the back of the motor like a bolt has broken that holds the till in the leg
I just had another look and it appears that the shaft that holds the motor on to the tilt bracket could be the thing moving I wonder if I have broken the shaft I did hit a stump at mondy at very low speed if you look at the first photo it is the round nut washer looking thing inder the front of the cowling it is moving when i move the motor
