    VHF Radio for the US

Are there any restrictions/things to note, when buying a VHF radio from the US.Don't want to get one and then find it does not work properly over here. Looking at a Uniden Um415.Any one used them?
    cheers,

I was under the impression that radio's bought from the US defaulted to US on startup and you have to change to international.
