Yeah thinking about it, Right money for the boat.

Only concern is the 150 Yam, although a good motor, I would like a 175 zuke but dealer, no can do..

I reckon that 150 would go OK on that boat Honda. Have you asked about a water test mate?

Check this one out too mate??

I have been offered a water test and am seriously considering the 150. trying to balance economy and horsepower is where i am at, with the weight difference. I have also been contemplating the 200 yam but Fuel figures and weight might are working against it.

That is the strange thing, HH are rebadging the 625 as a 600. You would think that the price would drop accordingly right? No, that boat is 10k more than a new 625?? cant quite figure out what is going on.. It does have a few differences internally, but not that much.

Anyway still have my boat for now.

    Regards
    Honda.

Totally different boat the Classic to the Profish. Bit like a Signature compared to a Traveller. It does have a 200 though

    hey honda,

i had the 600 r breeze with a 150 etec and that went really well, but in saying that i think a 200 would be the go as they are are heavy boat, the 150 still did the the job very well though

    cheers

    Hi Honda
I had a 600F Signature with a 175 on the back, it did the job real well on that size boat.
If you can not get the 175 Suzuki I would go for the 200Yam. A bit more power is better than not enough.
    Cheers Mark

    Mark,

Do you know what type of economy you were getting from the zuke? I have asked for pricing on the 200 as well, just think the xtra 60 odd kilos and the fuel consumption from the 6 as opposed to the 4 affects the range of the boat, no point having a bigger tank if the range is basically the same.

    HOnda.

Re: Anyone own a Haines Hunter Profish 625

You are really going to feel the weight if you jump up from the 150-175 size outboards to the 200s in 4 stroke land. I really felt the 30kg difference in jumping from the 140 Johnuki to the 150 Yammie. Plenty of power but at rest with the sea anchor out more waves would roll up the transom and generally the handling was a bit worse as it was slappier in the nose even at full in trim with all the extra weight at the back and I always ran with tabs and the foil made a massive difference to trim.

Isn't there about to be a new light weight 200 Yamaha released? Basically an up specced 150?

    Might be the go.

Re: Anyone own a Haines Hunter Profish 625

This is the news release about the new motor.
    http://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/hotne...pgraded-models

According to Yamaha Aust website it weighs 283kg. The 150 weighs 228kg.

In the UK press release it states that it weighs 227kg. http://www.yamaha-motor.eu/eu/news/index.aspx?id=515943
So are we getting the "new" 200 or not in Australia?

Re: Anyone own a Haines Hunter Profish 625

    How confusing is this?

The Vmax SHO 200 is a shorter shaft motor especially for bass boats and is based on the 4.2 litre v6 of the offshore 225/250/300.

The new new 200 four stroke is a 2.8 litre i4 motor similar to the current 150.

Saying that, I don't think you'd fit a Vmax on the HH 600/625 transom it'd be too short. The new 200 i4 would go well but having said that these hulls are very heavy and the extra 25kg up to the 4.2 225 is a minimal trade off for all that extra midrange torque.

I have a 600r ( same hull as 625 profish) and flat out its only doing 43kts so it's not overpowered. I would think a 150 would give you about 35 or so but will come on the plane a fair bit slower which may be an issue for bar work.
I used to have a Clearwater 2100 with a f150 and it weighed about 250kg less than the 600 and topped out at 36kts. Quite slow to plane too. Depends on your needs. The 600/225 combo cruises at around 1nm/litre ( 25-30kts ). Open the taps and it uses 80 lt/hour flat out.

    Cheers

Re: Anyone own a Haines Hunter Profish 625

    Thanks guys some useful information.

I get where your coming from Rob, I too have worried about waves rolling up the back, as it has a walkthrough transom on one side with no door, easily fixed though. funny you say that about the boat slapping, I was pretty impressed with your stabi not banging.

    Regards
    Honda.
